What Is GHG Verification?

GHG verification is the independent, third-party assessment of an organisation's greenhouse gas inventory or emissions report. A qualified verification body evaluates whether reported GHG data is materially correct, complete, and prepared in accordance with standards such as ISO 14064-1 or the GHG Protocol Corporate Standard — then issues a formal verification statement expressing a level of assurance over the reported emissions.

With regulatory requirements accelerating globally — from the EU Emissions Trading System and CBAM to CDP disclosure scoring and ISSB climate standards — credible, accredited GHG verification has become essential for organisations seeking to demonstrate genuine climate accountability and meet stakeholder expectations.
